Mary, The only info I have is that Charlotte was the daughter of Richard and Francis Vaughan. This info came from her marriage record to Isham Lawson. According to research of a Hylton cousin of mine, Francis d/o George and Ocilla/Ovilla Adams. I have wondered if the Joseph Vaughan family is related but found nothing to back it up. Glenda, I have wondered about this Charlotte Vaughan Hughes. The first Vaughan I had in Patrick was Joseph Vaughan and wife Nancy Via. Joseph was born in Bedford/Franklin county area in 1784. He was in Botetourt Co. in the first decade of 1800. In 1808 he married Nancy Via, widow of Steven Akers. Their children were Wilson T. (born 1810), Joseph (about 1813), Samuel, James, Sally, Onie, Martha, and Joshua. I haven't found a connection with the Vaughan's in Patrick Co. before 1810. If any of these connect, please let me know. This is my line of Hollandsworth- I would like to know did James marry Nancy Smallman or Nancy Craddock? I have found both names for her & its very confusing. I thought maybe her maiden name was Smallman & she married before to a Craddock. (just my thoughts trying to figure her lineage) Mary Frances d/o German (Jerman) Hollandsworth & Susan..... what was Susan's maiden name? I heard it was Hollandsworth (cousin of German.) Mary Frances married John Quincy Harris and lived in Webster County, WV.They are my great grandparents. Pat, Here is the line.......... Thomas & Susannah Mayes Hollandsworth >James Hollandsworth & Nancy Smallman> their son, German who was definitely born 1808, and died after 1870. He married Susan. Their daughter, Caroline Matilda was born Nov. 20, 1830. One of her sisters was Mary Frances. There was another German Hollandsworth in this family, maybe with Thomas or Madison Hollandsworth. I have all this info filed away somewhere. Speaking of this book. Can anyone tell me how to get to the following cemetery a little better? Protch Hiatt was buried in the Marshall Family Cemetery on his grandfather's farm, located 1/4 mile north of end of S/R 714, in woods, at foot of Blue Ridge Mountains, Patrick County, VA. I am not familiar with the area at all.
