In the book, Patrick Co. VA Marriages 1854-1874 page 100, it shows James WOOD (21) md. Nancy LAWSON on 1/4/1870. James is the son of Martin and Nancy WOOD. On the same page, it shows Martin WOOD (53) md Affelda A. HILL (36) on 2/4/1864. He was born in Surry Co., NC to William and Nancy Wood. In the 1850 Stokes Co. census, Martin and Nancy (#104) are still married and live next/near to Henry & Rachel WOOD (#103), WILLIAM AND NANCY WOOD (#102) and Adam & Letitia WOOD (#105). Does anyone know if the Martin WOODs mentioned in the book are the same? Thanks for your help! Marsha

Barb R, Lainie, & Debbie, My records and Lainie's match fairly close. Lainie, you have more information than I do (I don't show Nancy J. Hall as the second wife of John Brammer). I agree with Lainie's description of the 3 John Brammers. The first one I have noted as just "John Brammer", the second one as "John Brammer, Jr." and the third one as "John Brammer" (technically he is the III). Barb, your census listing shows Sarah M. Brammer aged 27 years. Lainie and I both show her as "Sally" M. Brammer, but I'm sure this is the same person. This is pretty confusing, but I believe Lainie;s done a good job of sorting it out.
