Any Gunnell's researchers out there? I have a 4th great grandmother named Sarah Gunnells married Greeneville Willis in 1823. They are buried at Bluemont Presby. cemetery near the Parkway. I have no other info on that surname except for her name, but I have a fairly good descendant list of Sarah Gunnells and Greenville Willis' children, if anyone is interested. Rachel, there was a minister in Carroll County by name of Allen Thomas. He was at the Laurel Fork Baptist Church untill his death in 1870's. He was married twice, first wife was Mary Nester. They had a daughter Louisa Thomas, 1866-1923 who married Tazwell E. Sutphin. In 1850 Carroll Census he is age 29. Does the age seem young for the Allen Thomas you are looking for? Mary Anne, The Allen Thomas in Patrick Co in 1821 can not be the Allen Thomas in Carroll Co. VA. The later Allen was born in 1819 or 1820. I was contacted by a lady researching the Burwell Spence family and she has a listing from the New Hope Primitive Church for 1825 that also has a Allen Thomas listed as an adult male member of the church community. The same names must mean some kind of a connection. The older Allen is either Nancy Thomas' husband or brother. This would mean a big break in a stone wall. Rachel HGRACE5366@aol.com
