    2. Jon Moran
    3. Hi, I am Jon Moran- my Patrick surnames include Craig and Moran. My great grandfather was George Washington Crawford Moran, married to Mary Jane "Mollie" Craig. I have both family lines back to the 1700's, but as everyone who has Nelson Moran in their line knows- we don't know anything about his origins. He was married to Mary Owen in 1802 in Amhearst, Va. 2. I am a BRANHAM descendant myself. My (3gr)grandmother, Frances BRANHAM, was the daughter of David BRANHAM, Sr. and Frances BASKETT and married Valentine AKERS about 1790. We haven't found a marriage record, but they stayed in Montgomery Co VA until about 1800 when they, along with the majority of the BRANHAM family, migrated to Floyd Co KY. I would be interested in the BRANHAM (as well as AKERS) families in Patrick Co. Best regards, Earl Earl B. Akers, Sr.

    1. Morans & Bryants
    2. All of this recent Moran info has been such a boon -- thanks so much to all!! I am another descendant of Nelson, but from his first marriage to Mary Owen. His son James Moran (whose birthdate I have as Dec. 12, 1812) was my ggg grandfather. James also had a twin brother named John Moran, and the Moran twins wed the Cannaday sisters (James wed Delilah, and John wed Martha, respectively). James and Delilah's son John Jefferson Moran and Exona Alkany Thompson (d/o George Pyrant Thompson and Jane Ingram) are my gg grandparents. Their daughter Martha Elizabeth "Bettie" Moran wed William Pinckney Bryant, s/o John "Jack" Bryant and Lucinda Stone. Herein lies my query (sorry it took me so long to get to the point; I just wanted to add my Moran data to what Barb R. contributed): does anyone have any info on John a/o Lucinda Stone Bryant? I believe John was born abt. 1836 and Lucinda abt. 1840 -- I don't know either birthplace for certain, but they are recorded in the 1870 PCVA Census with their children Eliza, William, Mary and John H. If anyone has any data about any further family ties for John and Lucinda, I would be extremely grateful, and happy to share any information I possibly can as well! (By the way, I have a Dec. 1862 death date for Nelson Moran as well.) Becky Olenchak JJBB343@aol.com
