ANDERSON, BASHAM, BRAGG, BUTLER, COOK, FARLEY, HUNT, MASSEY(MASSIE, MASEY),WILLIAMS and WOOD. Our main lines are ANDERSON and WILLIAMS. I work on the WILLIAMS and Mom works on the ANDERSON. Can someone tell me what the name of the post office was at the current Patrick Springs, Virginia location. I know that Patrick Springs became a post office in 1925 and that prior to that it was called Shuff, Virginia and prior to that it was called Spa Brook Station, Virginia. to Cynthia - i scanned the roots web messages & read about your search - you mentioned the 1860 Free Inhabitants Census. i have reached a "block" in my family research & didnt think to check this source. Ancestor, HANNAH SCALES approximately b1844 in patrick co by oral history. There is a slave owner Nathaniel SCALES (native of Va.) living in Forsyth Co. in 1850, who had 18 slaves, one a female aged 3 (that would place her birth around 1847). no info as to where these slaves were born. and i do not know if this is the ancestor i am looking for. I need a TWP. and any info provided by the 1810 and 1820 Patrick County Census for the Surname RIGNEY. This name could appear as RIGNY, REGNEY, REGNY. Any help with this most appreciated.
