    1. Introducing Sonny Griffith
    2. Marv Griffith
    3. Hi Everyone, I am new to the lists and want to introduce myself. My name is Sonny Griffith, AKA Marvin Griffith, and I am researching the Griffith, Bryant, Semones, Cochran, and Eanes lines, plus a considerable number of side families some of which are Cannaday, Hall, Ingram, Lyon, Martin, Rakes, Spencer, Thomas, Turner, Underwood, and Worsham. I have posted Outline Descendant Tree files for the Griffith, Bryant, Cochran and Eanes families plus a file listing everyone in my Family Tree Maker database on my home page at www.familytreemaker.com/users/g/r/i/Marvin-C-Griffith-jr. My biggest challenge right now is trying to find the parents of John Crafty Griffith. Any help would be appreciated with him or with any of my lines and hopefully my data will be of some benefit to some of you. Thanks. Sonny Griffith

    2. Barbara N Cheek
    3. Hello, yes, I'm another Barbara. I only just discovered this list and read all the Archieve postings of the surnames I'm researching (which are listed above and can be found in Patrick County). I found some names I recognized so please contact me with information, especially on the Lights and Scotts. And if you have Web Pages with info, let me know where to find them. I'm particularly interested in the ancestors of David Barlett Scott and Julina Bowman who are buried in the family cemetery by the side of the Blue Ridge Parkway near Meadows of Dan. Thanks, bnc (Barbara Nelson Cheek)

    3. I have a slew of ancestors clustered in the area where the boundaries of Patrick and Henry Sons and daughters often crossed the county/state line to marry. I have a John Wesley MARTIN (b. 1810) m. Matilda PAYNE (b. 1818) probably in Stokes Co., VA. Matilda PAYNE is the daughter of Robert PAYNE and Nancy CARTER (b. 1790 probably in Stokes Co.) Nancy CARTER is daughter of Henry CARTER, son of Barnett (Bernard) CARTER. This Carter family resided in Patrick Co. (1790-1812 roughly). Happy to share info on any of these three families. Betsy

In the 1850 census of Patrick County, one Martha Pack, age 4, was in the household of Woody Burge (my great grandfather). I've no idea who she was, and when Woody moved his family to MO in 1856, Martha didn't go along. Have you come across a Burge-Pack connection? Also, do you know of a Burge-Mize connection? There were some land transactions between the families in 1769 in Mecklenburg Co, VA. Marv Burge --part0_909562474_boundary--
