Matilda PAYNE (b. 1818) probably in Stokes Co., VA. Matilda PAYNE is the daughter of Robert PAYNE and Nancy CARTER (b. 1790 probably in Stokes Co.) Nancy CARTER is daughter of Henry CARTER, son of Barnett (Bernard) CARTER. This Carter family resided in Patrick Co. (1790-1812 roughly). Happy to share info on any of these three families. Betsy
