    3. I have never seen my query posted so would like to try again. In the 1830 Henry Co. Va. Census 2 women, evidently widows, are listed with children: Agness Lysle, age 40-50 Mary Ann Lysle, 1 female 40-50 and one 70-80 I am searching for parents, siblings of Beckwith Lyell (Lyle, Lisle) born VA 1793, married 1815 in Pittsylvania Co. Va to Margaret (Peggy) Owen, daughter of David and Peggy Nelson Owen of Pittsylvania Co. I have found no other Lyells in this county so they may have lived in a bordering county. Beck named his first son Richard and may have had a brother named Richard. I would like to hear from any others researching Lyell, Lysle, Lyle in this area. Mary Capps

    3. Carol, Thanks for the input. Every once in a while, I'm grateful Charity Hannah hasn't shown up in my direct tree (at least not yet!) just because she's such a mystery. 3. >What is the "Douglas Register" and where is it? >Judy Judy, The Douglas Register is a record of births, deaths, marriages, etc. kept by the Reverend Douglas. I should know which parish in Goochland it is for, and I should be able t remember Rev. Douglas' first name, but I'll have to leave those blanks for someone more knowledgeable to fill. I expect most any genealogy library will have a copy. I know the Bassett Branch library genealogy section has a copy, and even the Historical Museum in Stuart, Va has a copy. If you'd like your own, I'm sure you could get one from either Hearthstone or Willow Bend. --------------------- "You can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your relatives." ;^> Shelby Hubbard Puckett spuckett@bgsm.edu
