    3. Can anyone help with the location of Blackberry Creek in Patrick County? John Gossett received a land grant there in 1787 (when it was still Henry County). Neighbors on Blackberry Creek included the Hollandsworths, Witts, Bakers, and Kings. I believe it must have been south of Stuart, but have have not been able to find it on topographic maps. Perhaps it has another name today. Wayne Modlin cmodlin@erols.com

    2. Good Morning Dusty, I'm referring to your e-mail of 1 Dec and the reference to Stephen. There are two that I know of, one is son of James F. Midkiff and brother of John J. Midkiff. I think (not sure) this is the Stephen you refer to. The other is son of John J. Midkiff, Stephen S. Midkiff who died during the Chattanooga campaign of civil war on Missionary Ridge. I think he was married but don't know any more. For Spencer look in area of Lincoln Co., WV.

    3. I have added a section in the Patrick Co. Section of our home page for sharing information. This will not be for GED file. But, the only document I have there at this time to kick it off with is an extract of a will out of Penn. which referrers to one of our Patrick County Families. I will welcome, information on Patrick County including OLD photos of community interest. Such as an old school house, class reunion, old fire station the locations of where the photos are taken and names of persons in the photos if possible. Also, I would like to know if any one is interested in sending the names and locations of towns, townships, old postoffices, settlements, which once would have appeared on a birth, will, death, record, but no longer exist.
