Do you know who this Richard Jr. is? I thought maybe it was John Richard but the age is right far off and John Richard's wife was Lucinda. >> #1 is the $64k question! I have that Edward married Mary MORAN... Compiled Marriage Records, Patrick Co., VA., p. 131: [day didn't copy] Sept 1830, Edward WOOD and Mary MORAN. Min. Jesse JONES. Yet, another researcher sent me information stating that his wife's name was Nancy NOLEN, and that they married on 04 Dec 1841 in Franklin Co., VA. Given that his death record (as shown in archives, Patrick Co., VA) shows the following: 04 Jan 1998---Downloaded from USGenWeb Archives for VA: Patrick Co., VA Death Records 1853-1870 N Wood, Edward DOD 12 May 1860 A 50 s M COD Pneumonia P Richard and Rachel Wood POB Franklin Co., VA POD PCVA H W Nancy Moran Wood I Nancy, wife I suspect that there might have either been two marriages, or the record is not correct (your guess is as good as mine). #2....hmmmm. I have John Richard WOOD, married to Lucinda DEHART, but you are right...he wouldn't have been born ca. 1810 (he was born 1799). And it is not likely that the Jr. Richard would be Dickie WOOD, married at that time to Elizabeth DEHART, because he was waaaay older than that. I really don't have an answer on that one. Sorting out those WOOD marriages makes my head hurt. LOL! Lainie Hendrix

I'm also looking for BENTLEY'S and GREEN'S on my side. My husband's lines include VANDEGRIFTS who were born in Patrick, as well as REED. My husband was born in Stuart, myself in Martinsville. 3. My name is Vern Ferguson and I am researching my father's famly, mostly in Franklin County, but I ran across a listing for Prudence Craddock who married Henry B. Johnson. I found in the new book Franklin County Death Index that Prudence was Prudence F. Craddock, daughter of William and Elizabeth Craddock and that she was born in Patrick County. Her husbands full name is Henry Barns Johnson, son of Isham Johnson and Elizabeth Barns. Prudence was born about April 05, 1795 and died April 10, 1859 (Her death listing states that at her death she was 64 years and 5 days old.) Prudence and Henry were married March 16, 1816 in Franklin County. My brother-in-law is a Clark and his mother is a Craddock also. He and my sister live in Stuart, VA. I'd like to find out more about my Craddocks so that I can see if we are related his family. Thanks, Vern

I would love help with this line. Thomas DICKENS (listed as Dinkins) and Rhody PENNINGTON, married in Patrick Co VA, are also my ancestors.
