First, Thanks very much for your message. Yes! these are the Reynolds I am referring to. My wife is Deborah Reynolds. Her Reynolds line follows: 1 Jesse Reynolds Sr, b. 1763 b. Pittsylvania (now Patrick), d. Patrick 2 Jesse Reynolds Jr., b. 1800 b. Patrick, d. Franklin 3 Andrew J. Reynolds, b. 1833 b. Patrick, d. Russell 4 William B. Reynolds, b. 1865 b. Lee, d. Russell 5 Charles E. Reynolds Sr., b. 1902 b. Russell, d. Russell 6 Charles E. Reynolds Jr. b. 1925 b. Russell, d. Tazewell 7 Deborah G. Reynolds b. Tazewell According to documents I have researched, Moses was the father of Abraham David Reynolds, who was the ancestor of Harden W. and R.J. Reynolds. According to a Henry County Deed, Marriage Records, etc, Moses was the brother of my wife's ancestor Jesse, Sr. Meekins Reynolds was the brother of Abram David Reynolds. Meekins was administrator of his uncle, Jesse Sr's estate. I am preparing a book on the descendants of these Reynolds families, I would appreciate any info you can provide, particularly a Gedcom listing descendants of Abram David Reynolds who md. Mary Polly Harbour. Abram was the son of Moses Reynolds; not David Reynolds as S. F. Tillman and many others indicate. I have located a Chancery Case transcription that lists Abram among Moses' children. In addition, this is supported by tax lists, deeds, and marriage records. I am trying to determine who were the parents of Moses, Jesse, et al. If you have any info in that direction, I'd be very interested. Would you send me more descriptive information on the contents of your book? Are there copies for sale? Rachel, "History of Patrick Co." states "...we know that one of these sons (speaking of Barnabas Bailies and wife Susannah) married Milly Reynolds the daughter of Jesse Reynolds, a relative of the family that founded the Reynolds tobacco business and fortune. My book was not solely about the Reynolds, but it has many Reynolds in the book for my great, great Shelor Aunt married a Reynolds as did my Lawson great Aunt. Do you know who William A. Reynolds was or how he fit in with the Reynolds family? His wife's first name was Rebecca, I believe. I do not know what her maiden name was. After Mr. Reynolds died, she married John Wood. William A. Reynolds' son, Anthony T. Reynolds (1865-1941) married my greatgrandfather's sister.

My Webb's remained in the Patrick and Henry Co. area of Virginia. I also live in Virginia. The Webb's I am interested in are the ones before your Valentine and my Sylvester....which would be in Virginia. I don't have a file on Valentine. But all I need is Virginia information prior to 1800. Thank you. Mary
Mary, I have a partial list of 5 generations starting with the parents and siblings of Valentine. I think I remember emailing an FTW file to you once before. Typing them all out, or printing each sheet would be lengthy and time consuming and delay quite the process a while. In the family file there are some notes and data other than just the name list, etc. Let me know if you would like t receive the file. It might be helpful to look in a given area (Ohio, Indianda, etc.) Valentine was at one time in Patrick because he married in Patrick, but traveled on west and most of my direct ancestors stayed in and around Patrick, so getting information on the family in other states would be more difficult. Where are you located, now and where did your known ancestors come from? ----- Original Message ----- From: "M.V.Gibson" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, January 25, 2005 8:00 PM Subject: Re: [VAPATRIC] Valentine Webb > Yes, I'd appreciate you sending the sheet of information. Yes, I'd appreciate you sending the sheet of information. My ancestor, Sylvester Webb, was born there about 1797. I am trying to find the names of his parents. His grandson born in 1884 was named James Valentine Webb so I am following this lead. Thanks for your help. Any information, however remote, could provide a clue. Mary
An Isham Harris is mentioned in several documents with Samuel, James, Reuben, and William Harris, who are shown by a 1796 deed to have been sons of William and Sarah Harris of Patrick County. Isham Harris was not mentioned in the deed, but he lived in the same area along the headwaters of Smith River, and I believe he may also have been a son of William and Sarah. An Isham Harris, presumably the same one, married Elizabeth Jordan in Patrick County on 13 Jan 1808. His signature appears on an 1818 deed along with that of an unknown Luby Harris. Isham Harris was listed as a head of household in the 1820 Patrick County census, and the last known record of him in the county is dated 1821. Any information that might shed light on this Isham Harris will be appreciated. Charles Leon Harris
Mary, I have Valentine Webb, as son of James Webb & Elizabeth? b/Franklion Co., Va 1782, d/Blooming Grove, Franklin County, Indiana, May 1841. Wife Elizabeth Abshear. b/abt 1783, in VA. The Patrick County Genealogy Society is currently putting together a WWII Pictorial Book of Patrick County Veterans who served in WWII as well as the efforts on the homefront back home. If you have a veteran in your family from Patrick County (or even if they are deceased), you can submit all the pictures you want to us (not your originals, please), along with a 25 word caption for each picture FREE! Pictures can include their military pictures, pictures they took overseas, postcards, letters back home, rationing books, etc. We will be having a meeting this Saturday, at the Stuart Baptist Church at 9:00 a.m. to begin accepting pictures for this project. The Patrick County Genealogy Society is an outgrowth of the Patrick County Heritage Book. For more information, you may contact 276-251-8356, or e-mail: [email protected] The project chairman is David Sheley whose address is 4522 Dobyns Road, Stuart, VA 24171. We are doing this to pay homage and patronage to our veterans for without them we would not have the freedoms we enjoy today. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
