Good Morning All! I'm heading to Martinsville/Patrick County tomorrow for several days of research. While there, I would like to find the gravesite of my gr-gr-grandfather Dr. William Frederick Brown Taylor, 2/17/1828 - 9/5/1891. He died of consumption in Elamsville. Any help would be much appreciated! John Taylor

I have scanned the "Tombstone Inscriptions of the Cemeteries of Patrick County, VA" by O.E. Pilson and do not come up with one for Nathaniel or Martha Young. None of the dates seem to go back that far on any of the Youngs. Maybe someone on the list knows of old unmarked graves that could be for Nathaniel or Martha. The Floyd County Heritage CD is all but finished. It is about 300 pages of information mainly about Floyd County and it contains Births, Deaths, Cemetery, Obits and a Floyd County Census index for 1930. Maybe more, But that's all for now. It is a .PDF file and readable through Acrobe. It is searchable by name or phrase, you can Zoom in , Zoom out ..It will read to you. Barbara has a sample and said "This is COOL" I am not at liberty to put the price here, But I assure you it's worth twice that. What i'm interested in is knowing how many are interested, so know how many I'll need to bring to the Picnic. YOU MUST contact me off list for details. Barbara has been kind enough to let me do this, so let's not make her upset. Please Refer to "Floyd County Tidbits" in the Subject line to reserve the CD. Mail directly to me. Dear Floyd, Franklin and Patrick Counties, VA mailing lists: I really do need your help and input. First, even if you are just "thinking" about coming to the picnic, please let Barb S. know really, really soon. I truly hope that a lot of you all on the mailing lists will decide to come. We do not have that many replies from you as yet. And if something comes up at the last minute and you cannot be there, that's O.K. I would lots rather err on the side of planning for too many, than not enough. One very important reason I need these numbers is: I need to decide about how many of the story booklets to have printed. You know, we don't want too many nor do we want "not enough". I just know that this will be a memorable occasion for all of us ( as all of the picnics are), but in order for it to be a success we need to have a good crowd there. So, please, put on your "traveling thinking caps" and let us know. Please email Barb S. privately @ [email protected] - also, one other thing, Carolyn's booklet deadline is April 29th for stories. Mine is absolutely nothing spectacular, in fact it's rather pitiful, so please don't be shy. If you all will please reply to Barb S. and Carolyn, I promise to do my very best not to bother you on the lists on this subject unless it is absolutely necessary. Please come and all the best to all of you, Allison Galt-Hall (One of the picnic coordinators) Dallas, TX ==== VAFLOYD Mailing List ==== Floyd County,Virginia Mailing List Web Site http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~barbs/

Columbus died abt 1955 and I'd love to get a picture of his gravestone and a death date. I'm still trying to find out where his wife Leah was buried and what her maiden name is , I was told she died before Columbus did.
