Does anyone know anything about or claim the Abel and William Lee found on the 1820 & 1830 in Patrick County, VA?? Are these the same as the 2 above? William was there again in 1840, but not Abel- then Abel was there in 1850 and not William?? Hi, Wilma, I'm so glad that you caught the melanoma before it spread! The important thing now is for you to let it heal properly. Don't do anything to endanger that! I am also sorry to miss seeing you there, but will get you a cd if there is not a book available. I confess now that I failed to put in all but one of your photos with your story, but we had a time separating them from the text. Next time you might want to send the photos separately. Hi Barbara, I could weep but it will do no good. I have had a melanoma cancer removed from my leg and my doctor told me this morning that he does not want me to use that leg much yet. So, I cannot be at the picnic. I will be ok from the cancer; it had not spread but I do not want the leg to pop open. My cousin Connie Webb says she will be there. Please look for her and say hello for she will probably know no one unless she runs into some Shelor or Harris cousins. Dear Carolyn, I wanted so badly to be at the picnic. Even though I had a melanoma cancer taken from my leg, I thought I could go but the doctor told me today I must take it easy for a bit longer. So sorry not to meet you, my cousin, as well as many more that will be there. Your Picnic Story Book -- I would love a copy or a CD if you have one and will sell it to me. If that is possible, give me the price on my email line. My address is: Wilma Lawson Padgett, 8820 Walther Blvd., Apt. 2109, Parkville, MD 21234. My email add: [email protected] Have a nice time and look for my cousin, Connie Webb who plans to be there. Hello I'm new to this list. I have found the name of a person on the social security death index that is possibly the person I've been searching for. John Palmer born September 12, 1900 died in July 1978. His last residence was in Stuart, Patrick Co., Virginia. I am trying to determine if this John Palmer is the same John Palmer that was born in Alaska on September 12, 1900. Is there some kind soul out there that can look up an obituary for this man? I think the name of the newspaper is the Enterprise. I've tried to contact them but they tell me the newspapers are on microfilm but they have no staff to do a search. I would really appreciate hearing from someone who can help me. Coleen Alaska
>Randy Crouse McNew" <[email protected]> >Sent: Sunday, June 19, 2005 1:52 AM I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who occasionally sits up to all hours of the night perusing census data etc... :) Another curious note on the 1900-Census-Lucy mystery: The enumerator was Stanton Richard "Dick" West. who was married to Mildred Ann "Minnie" Taylor. Dick's sister-in-law Emma Taylor was married to Lucy Ann's brother, John Robert Martin. So this was "family" he was recording for the census. It seems like he would know whether Lucy was really dead or not. Per my gggg grandfather War of 1812 Declaration of Soldier for Pension, Daniel Griffith and Alley Sheradan were married December 27, 1809 at Thomas Hales in Franklin County. Looking at the Hale's listed below and knowing that Daniel and Alley lived in the area of Runnett Bag and Buttermilk Creeks I would guess the Thomas Hale mentioned might be the Thomas B. listed below. Anyone have info on this Thomas B. Hale? I guess I agree with Pat Johns, she was away in 1900. Where was she? She was probably enumerated in someone's household. I couldn't find her in the 1900 index though. The only possible thing would be that the date on Lucy's headstone was misread and possibly should read 1921.
