I would like to exchange info with anyone researching Lanes in the Orange County area. I will be moving to Fredericksburg this summer and would appreciate any info I can receive about Genealogy/Historical groups in that area. I am interested in Lanes who supposedly lived in Orange County about 1800. I have recently found a direct male descendent from my brick wall who is Moses Lane b. 1827 Ky/Tn, moved to IL and lived in Hamilton County IL until he died in 1890. A Spencer Lane lived in the area and was born in Orange County VA in 1799/1807. I think they are related but I do not know exactly how. The descendent referred to above has sent DNA testing in and I am really interested to see if it will steer me toward a particular branch of the Lane/Layne/Lain families.
