Saw this and other notes regarding Hawkins. Orange County Historical Society has a file on the Hawkins. Including a copy of William Hawkins' will dated 31 Dec 1789 mentioning his wife Elizabeth and children, William, Rueben, Eliza or Elizabeth, Arculus, John. The file also contains information on the Hawkins of Virginia, The Carolinas, and Kentucky. If this sounds like your Hawkins maybe we can help. Also believe you inquired about the Newman School. It was located in Gordonsville (Orange County, VA) the prinipal was J. B. Newman and the period of operation was 1850-1860. Old BlueRun Baptis Church is located in the Somerset area of Orange County. The building is still standing. Hi, With all of these names, then you must have trampled all over my family in your quest. My third great grandparents were Robert Chesley DANIEL ( Abt 1765-aft 1830) and Penelope LANE of Wayne County, NC, later of Burke County, GA. Robert and his descendants are descendants of Capt. James DANIEL and Jane HICKS of Albemarle County, VA - DNA proven. John R. Clarke 229-228-1961 2417 N.
