Anthony Head was in Washington County by 1773. The Fincastle and Montgomery County surveys from Plat Book A records on February 15, 1774 “Anthony Head, 210 acres on the North Fork of [Holston] River in Rich Valley”. Anthony died abt 1780 in Washington County, Virginia. Mary then married Isaac Baker abt 1787. After Mary Head/Baker died her heirs filed a court case against her administrator of her estate, James Head. “Bledsoe, Loving et al vs. James Head, administrator. New suit to Oct term 1816. Executed 2nd August on James Head by copy left. Nicholas Longsong not found. Ca Loving Bledsoe & Milly, his wife; Lewis Petts & Mary, his wife, Eliza Lovingston, widow and relict of Peter Lovingston (Livingston); William Head, Goven Head; Anthony Head & Joseph Head, heirs and distributees of Mary Baker, Dec'd versus James Head, administrator of Mary Baker and Nicholas Lonsong. Dismissed for want of ??? bill.” Based on the above I would claim the children of Anthony Head and his wife Mary were Milly, Mary, Elizabeth, William, Gavin, Anthony, Joseph and James. I have not been able to determine who Anthony Head's parents were nor any information prior to the 1774 land survey. I am aware of the Heads of Orange County but I have not been able to connect. Anthony Head of Orange County is old enough to by Anthony Head of Washington County father. Thanks for the information.
