Epsom is located in Vance County, North Carolina, between Henderson and Louisburg. Vance County is where the old Stainback home place and cemetery are located. Vance was subdivided in 1881 from Granville, Franklin and Warren Counties, all of which have lots of Stainbacks and Dukes, who intermarried not only with each other, but with many of the surnames originating in North Carolina.
