Hello: We are looking for Elizabeth and James Duncan of Orange. Elizabeth married John Furnis in St. Thomas Parish Jamuary 24, 1773. They were married only seven years when John died, possibly from a wound or sickness in the Revolutionary War. Elizabeth appears on tax lists in the early 1780's. Marriage Bonds of Norfolk County, VA list in 21 Dec 1789 Francis King and Mrs. Elizabeth Furnace, widow. I am not sure if this is the same Elizabeth. James Duncan appears on a 1786 probate. We believe him to be either brother or father to Elizabeth. John Furnis had two sisters Elizabeth and Mary. We are looking for their marriage records, probably 1765-1786.
