He moved to Albemarle Co in 1793 and settled 4 or 5 miles from John Wood and wife who had preceded him some 2 or 3 years.He preached John Wood's funeral sermon, he said in 1846, although Wood had died in 1843 according to his wife's application for her widow's pension.I don't know if this is the John Gibson you are looking for. This Gibson performed marriages which were recorded in Orange and Albemarle simultaneously.
