I am starting to trace my geneology for the Coleman side of my family. (The other side Rosson was well documented and available online.)The only info my family had to go on was a penciled list of names on an old sheet of paper. I am assuming the names are in the proper order. Here is what I know .I included the remarks that were with the entry when given. Gen 1 Henry Coleman (I found a land grant for a Henry Coleman dated 1634 in the Virginia Archives.) Gen 2 Richard married a Rebecca Claiborne in 1654 Gen 3 Robert married Ann who died in 1713. Gen 4 Howard married Sarah Gen 5 John,Henry,William,Thomas,JAMES died abt. 1795,Robert,Kate,Phoebe Gen 6 Ambrose (Son of James)married Fanny Hilman Gen 7 Wilson, James,Elizabeth,Fanny,Lucy,Lydia,Bruce,Thomas B. 1823 Wounded at Gettysburg , Joseph b. 1828 wounded at Gettysburg, JOHN b. 1838? Died Oct 26 1861 in Richmond of fever. soldier in CSA. Married to Mary Ann Wright. Gen 8 (John's children) SAMUEL married Laura Jane Massey, David, Frazier, Jennie, Benjamin Gen 9 Charles Arthur Coleman (son of Samuel)
