I appreciate your effort. I did have another Scott in my line, who may or may not be related to John b. 1750 -- and she _did_ go south. She was Mary Scott, b. ca. 1760 (very ballpark), who married Thomas McBride. They had one known child but probably had others, Thomas Walter McBride b. in Virginia in 1789.
