Dear List Members, Could someone on the list, familiar with the old Marriage Record Books of the County, tell me if the book(s) containing the Marriage Records of 1792 still exist today? If so, how can one, living in Alabama and has never been to VA, go about obtaining a copy of the marriage record of an ancestor who was married in Orange County in 1792? Caleb Oliver and Nancy White applied for a Marriage License on Sept. 5, 1792 and were married on Sept. 10, 1792 in said County. I would like to get the source information of this record (Book and page number) as well as a copy of this record. are these records located in the county or are they at the Virginia State Library?
