First of all, I agree with the person who was fed up with companies using his/her information & charging for it. I have spent over 20 years & untold money researching my family and have shared it with others, but will be very selective who I share with in the future. Several of those "others" have taken my information, combined it with information from untold others & put it on the web as their information & families. One lady in particular put information about my grandmother & ggrmother on the web (both a pay for & free site)as her family, changing my grgrandmother's name, and other names & dates. She is not even related to my family on that line. Another person took my direct line (he's related thru a very distant collateral line) and added incorrect information. It gets very annoying when you share & people change your documented information to undocumented info and put it on sites that charge. It's like a big contest to see who can put the most names into their ! database, and that's not what genealogy is about. Secondly, Ancestry is NOT a Mormon site. It is probably owned by Mormons, but the LDS Church has nothing to do with Ancestry!! Maybe you're thinking of the Ancestral File, which is part of the LDS website.
