Posted on: Orange Co. Va Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Va/Orange/444 Surname: COLLINS, JOHNSON, PULLIAM, HEAD, HARWOOD, PEAK, BARKSDALE, RESOR ------------------------- I am searching for information on the marriage of James COLLINS, Jr. of Culpeper County, VA to Mildred JOHNSON of Orange County, VA. I need a date, place and anything about their parents, if at all possible! Their son was Benjamin Jackson COLLINS who married Martha Conway PULLIAM in Texas about 1850. Apparently James and Mildred COLLINS moved from VA to Glasgow (Howard County), Missouri, where they died. Benjamin Jackson COLLINS and his wife Martha PULLIAM were born in Howard County, MO.

Posted on: Orange Co. Va Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Va/Orange/436 Surname: LIGHTFOOT, DARNALL, WEBSTER, HOLLIDAY ------------------------- Henry Taylor LIGHTFOOT was born in June 1776, in VA or NC. It is highly probable that he m. Martha DARNALL in Wake Co NC in 1800, was divorced by her for desertion in 1803, and then m. Nancy WEBSTER in Mercer Co KY in 1804. There were several LIGHTFOOT families already in central KY by 1802 when Henry Taylor LIGHTFOOT is first found on a tax list for Franklin Co KY in 1802-03. The earlier LIGHTFOOT settlers were from Culpeper, Madison and Orange Co VA. Does anyone know of early Orange Co LIGHTFOOTS who may have had younger sons who went to KY? Henry named his first sons by Nancy WEBSTER John William, Wilson T. and Elijah Holliday LIGHTFOOT. I have been unable to find a HOLLIDAY or WILSON connection. If, in fact, he is the same Henry who m. Martha DARNALL, he named his first son by her William Taylor LIGHTFOOT. Thank you, Cynthia Orth
Posted on: Orange Co. Va Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Va/Orange/434 Surname: Gibbs, Campbell, Pendleton ------------------------- Bill, I have e-mailed you a copy of a Zacharias Gibbs [Sr.] and Mary Massie Descendants Report that will answer part of your question posed in your query regarding [Edward] Churchill Gibbs, who resided in Orange County, Virginia. The source of this data is provided below. The report does not include the children of Edward Churchill Gibbs and his two wives. Churchill had six children with his first wife Mary Judith Richardson and three children with his second wife Elizabeth Campbell, and all are named in the cited source. The cited source provides considerable information regarding the descendants of Edward Churchill Gibbs and includes a copy of his Will and copies of several other interesting documents. As for the Pendleton surnames, I find only two or three in the cited source but find no mention of Judge Edmund Pendleton. Edward Churchill Gibbs is a great grandson of John Gibbs [IX] and Mary Marron, my 6th great grandparents. Source: Stanley Eugene & Dorothy Allen Gibbs; Marvin Robert & Juanita Wignall Gibbs; and Russell Liberty Gibbs, compiled from a variety of genealogy records, From Castle To Country (Boulder, CO, P.O. Box 706, 80306-0706: Typed and Published by Betty L. Gibbs of Gibbs Associates,1996). Hope this information is helpful. Alton Spencer Ray Jr. Fort Worth, Texas
