Try looking under The Olive Tree scroll done past ancestry search (or you will end up on ancestry .com) and click on VanSlyke also Van Valkenburg or her genealogy. She goes into this family also, They married into the VanSk. Also click on Mohawk. Following is her timeline: * 10 Jul 1823 - Lydia was born in New York * 08 Jan 1844 - Lydia marries Lemuel Palmer Whitney in Java, NY * 24 Jul 1845 - daughter Louisa is born in Java, NY * 09 Dec 1847 - son Newton Palmer is born in Java, NY * 16 Jan 1850 - son Edwin James is born in Java, NY * 1851 - the family, along with Lemuel's parents [Palmer and Judah (Barber) Whitney] move from Java, NY to Riley, Illinois. * 22 Jul 1852 daughter Emma is born in Riley, Illinois * 16 Sep 1854 daughter Ida G. is born in Riley, Illinois * 27 July 1857 son Nelson B. is born in Riley, Illinois; dies 4 months * 11 Aug 1863 son Allen F. is born in Riley, Illinois; dies 4 months * 1865 - family moves to western Pennsylvania; living there three years. * 1868 - family returns to Illinois * 1870 - family resides in Riley, Illinois * 1880 - family resides in Genoa, Illinois * 1882 - Lydia and Lemuel move to a farm in Belleville, Kansas * 27 Nov 1885 - Lydia dies in Belleville, Kansas * 14 Aug 1901 - Lemuel dies in Belleville, Kansas. They are buried at Belleville Cemetery in Belleville, Kansas.
