Hi Julie, I have many Van Slyke families on my website at www.angelfire.com/ga4/myhayes_family/ . I have Baertie as my 8th great grandmother. I have no idea if she is Native American. I have her birth as 1636 in Kinderhook, Columbia County, NY. I have also seen her birth in Albany, NY and the Netherlands. My records are all cross referenced to Olive Schulze's Van Slyke books. I do not think that Ots Toch Hartell is her mother. I have four children for her and Cornelis Antonissen Van Slyke. None of them is Ots Toch. Richard
