I've "rescued" and old photograph of Van BRIGGS with Ellen STALLCOP and Donnie BRIGGS which was taken in 1913 "At Tyler's" with the three all appearing to be in their 20's at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding those pictured in the photograph: Van Frank BRIGGS was b. 1890 in South Dakota to parents Frank James BRIGGS (1858-1934) and Anna Elza or Eliza VAN SICKLE or VANSICKLE (b. 1862 or 1863) who were married in Houston, MN on 20 Dec 1885. The couple had 5 children including, Evalina "Eva" Hulda; Van Frank; Donna "Donnie" Anna; Bessie Zuleme or G. or Y. or E.; Hazel Fern BRIGGS, all born between 1887 and 1898. Van died in 1960 and is buried in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca, MN. Donna "Donnie" Anna BRIGGS was b. 2 May 1893 in Onamia or Blue Earth, MN to the same parents and married Howard Russell BAKER (1893-1960) on 30 Jun 1920 in Onamia, MN and together they had four children including, Robert Russell; Roberta Anna; Lois Elaine; and William Howard BAKER, all born between 1920 and 1926. Donnie died 26 Oct 1978 in Minneapolis, MN and is buried in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. Ellen Anjanette STALLCOP was b. 7 Apr 1887 in Northfield, MN to parents Octavo William STALLCOP (1857-1928) and Carrie Laverne WARD (1864-1920). Ellen had at two siblings including, Stephen William STALLCOP (1884-1949) and Clifford Ward STALLCOP (1889-1960). Ellen married Van Frank BRIGGS (1890-1960) and together they had at least two children including Burton Stallcop BRIGGS (1916-1945) and Ronald Vance BRIGGS (1920-1985). Ellen died 5 Aug 1947 in Mille Lacs, MN and is buried in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca, MN. I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. Florence was a daughter of Theodore J. Hager and Lucretia "Crusa" A. Mosher, born in March, 1870. Her parents divorced around 1880 and Florence went to live with her mother and brothers in Traverse City, MI. Her mother had since remarried to John L. Roberts. Florence's father, Theodore J. Hager, was born in Michigan in February, 1838, a son of John Hager and Nancy Irwin. After his father died (c. 1843) and raised in the home of my fourth great uncle Isaac B. Riggs, who became his step-father. They lived in Castleton Twp., Barry Co., MI. After divorcing his wife, Crusa, Theodore seems to have moved around a lot, from home to home, as the census records and his death record suggest. He died on March 7, 1916, in Paris Twp., Kent Co., MI. I am interested in any photos you may have of the VanSickle family from the early 1900s. I don't know much about him, which I am hoping to get help with here. He and my Grandmother Arlene Lawson (JoAnn) had my father David in February 1953 and separated shortly thereafter. They had a short court battle for visitation of my dad, but by the time my dad was 7-8 years old, Frank was completely out of his life. I have heard stories that he was a colorful character - military guy with a bad temper who did jail (possibly prison) time. I cannot locate any reliable information about him on Ancestry - if anyone out there has any leads I'd be so appreciative for the help! Thanks a ton! I believe I am descended from Lydia Van Sickle via her youngest daughter Pheby. Pheby married a William Eastman not sure exactly where. They raised their children in New York and in later years moved to Winnebago CO, Illinois. They had a son Otis, he had a daughter Edith Edna who is my great grandmother. I think that Jonathon Vangorden died right before Pheby was born. Lydia then married John Roloson, died in 1839 and is buried in Berkshire Township, Delaware County, Ohio. I think Lydia's father was Andrew Van Sickle. I know this is sketchy. Hope it helps. Just telling you what I've found while researching Phoebe.
