Hi Indie, I have passed this information on to a distant cousin of mine who is related to a Joseph A. Rock, born about 1825, who married Mary P. Lewis in 1847. Their son Augustus was the great grandfather of my distant cousin. Mary's date of death was in 1893 I believe, so this may not be your Joseph A. Rock. I do know that he was the son of Richard L. Rock who was the son of Alexander Rock and Mary Littrell Rock. Thanks for info. This J. A. Rock I have was married in later years to Almeda Jane Stephens Smith, widow, on 5-24-1896. She was older then, being born 1838, and a widow. Seems like the right time period. That's all I know about him. What is your cousins name, does he have email?
