William was the son of William who was the son of John, son of William, son of William, son of Roger and Alice Modsley. Roger was the son of Thomas (now spelled Wyther), who was the son of Thomas who was the son of Sir Thomas, who was the son of William, son of Thomas, son of Reginald, son of Sir Robert and Joan.
