Hi Indie, I met with Cecile Thrift over the weekend. She lives on Rich Neck Road in the Village area. She is a Clark and proceeded to show me a report that I guess you put together. Sure is a small world, isn't it. Her parents were Charles Ambrose Clark and Ruby Katherine Chatham. By the way, who was Hempsil Clark? I was reading an article in the GSNNV about him and his slave. I was born and raised there. Have relatives still there, and some from N. C. Kirby, Penrice and Elliott. Ever heard of them? Sincerely, Indie Clark Shepp, now living in Pa. ----- Original Message ----- From: <DFN34@aol.com> To: <VANORTHU-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 07, 2002 9:14 AM Subject: [VANORTHU-L] NEWTON'S Pre 1800 > > Hi Listers, > Can anyone tell me whether there were Newton's in Northumberland County > before 1800.
