    1. [VANORTHU-L] Looking for info. on Vanlandingham decendants EVANS AND BROWN

    3. My grandmother was Sophronia Brown Evans, daughter of Benedict Hartley Brown and Sarah Jane Vanlandingham. She lived in Reedville, VA. Four of her children were buried in a family plot there sometime between 1910 and 1922. I wonder if anyone would have any knowledge of it? It was near a body of water, a river, I think, and the family who owned the property about 30 years ago also owned a popular restaurant in the area. The children were named Jefferies Evans, Herschal Evans, Madrid Evans, and another daughter whose name I do not know. I have not seen it since I was a child and everyone who would know about it has passed on. It was a very small, poor graveyard but I would like to locate it and ensure that the graves are taken care of . Thanks for any help. Also if anyone has any info. on Benedict Hartley Brown I would appreciate it. 3. Have you tried through the Jones-Ash Funeral Home. Sonny Ash, retired, but still in area, knows just about every cemetery or location of a burial ground anywhere in that area. I am sure you can get help through the funeral home and ask for him, or his tele. # at home. He's a really great guy and lots of help to anyone asking. Good luck, Indie Shepp ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rita Eder" <ederfamily@hotmail.com> To: <VANORTHU-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 10, 2003 10:22 PM Subject: [VANORTHU-L] Looking for info. on Vanlandingham decendants EVANS AND BROWN > > My grandmother was Sophronia Brown Evans, daughter of Benedict Hartley Brown > and Sarah Jane Vanlandingham.
