Hooray, I'm glad to see this LIST come to life. Was beginning to think no one was interested in NU genealogy. Hi Susan, I see there is at least one other Md. researcher looking for names that show up on both sides of the Potomac. I have found a John Riddle being transported into Lancaster Co. in 1782 and my John Riddle is in Charles Co. Md. in 1784. What is the chance of these two guys being one and the same. How common was it for transportees to Va. to jump across the river. The Md. Headright System ended in the late 1680's so what reason would the immigrants have for landing in Va. and then quickly going to Md. after that date? Susan, It sounds like you are working on a similar situation. I didn't find John, the transportee in NU, but I did find some others who landed with him in Lancaster Co. later in NU. If anyone has knowledge of other instances of " immigrating across the river", I would like to know about it. Hugh Brown
