Most of my research has been in Loudoun Co.,Fairfax Co., Fauquier Co. and some in Prince William Co. all in Va. The surname's in these counties are SNOW, SPENCER,JAMES, FOLEY, ASHFORD, CONN, MCATEE,ELGIN, FEAGAN AND OTHERS. I am just beginning to research Northumberland Co.Va. Many of the surname's I am seeing are also in the counties I am researching. I find many surname's are used as forename's. That was the reason I was looking for Spencer Snow. One of my brick wall is Icy { Ica,Isa, Isaphine ?] Snow : ICY SNOW I think she was born ca.1740 - 1744. And believe she died by ca 1793. I do know she was married to JOHN SPENCER. Hi Sondra, My Turners of Loudoun/Fairfax Co. also migrated to Wood Co., WV and owned property in Belleville on the Ohio River. I have often seen the Spencer name in my research on the Turners. Perhaps they migrated together to Wood Co. My GG grandfather William Turner (b.1733) left VA for WV about 1809. He was accompanied by his sons Thomas Turner and Thomazin Ellzey Turner. They stayed in Wood Co. 'til about 1830 and then moved on. I don't know of any marriages between our 2 families but I do know that Thomas had a wife named ANN ??, and Thomazin had a wife named MARY ??. Could one of these ladies possibly been a Spencer? The Lewis family was possibly related to my Turners and I am familiar with each of the Lewises mentioned in your deeds below.
