BARNES, Henry, of Wiccomoco Parish W.W. 29 March 1789 --- W.P. 12 April 1790 Wife Mary Barnes - the land whereon I now live, and all my right of the land I purchased of Isaac Sutton, and all my other real and personal estate during her natural life. Granddaughter Betsy Barnes Marsh - a good maintenance out of my estate during her maiden life. Grandson Gideon Hammonds Marsh - after my wife's death, the land whereon I now live to him and the heirs lawfully begotten of his body, and if no such heir I lend the land to my granddaughter Betsy B. Marsh, and her heir lawfully begotten of her body, and if no such heir to Spencer Snow, son of Elisha Snow. Granddaughter Betsy B. Marsh - after my wife's death, the land I purchased of Isaac Sutton to her and heir lawfully begotten of her body, and if no such heir to my grandson Gideon H. Marsh, and if he should depart this life without a lawful heir of body, to John Snow, son Elishas Snow. Grandson Gideon H. Marsh - after my wife death, a half of all my other estate of negroes and moveables, to him and the lawfully heir of his body, and if no such heirs to granddaughter Betsy B. Marsh and her lawful heirs, and if no such heirs to Joseph Spencer Snow in North Carolina. Granddaughter Betsy B. Marsh - the other half of my negroes and moveable estate after my wife's death, to her and the lawful heirs of her body, and if none to grandson Gideon H. Marsh, and if he has no heirs of his body to Joseph Spencer Snow, son of Samuel Snow in North Carolina. Negro girl Kate,given to granddaughter Betsy B. Marsh by deed, should go with my other estate if granddaughter dies without heir. Grandchildren Gideon, and Betsy B. Marsh, shall not choose any guardian until they are twenty- one years old, but let their estates remain in the executors hands until that time.
