Here's an interesting twist to my THRIFT research. John THRIFT born about 1751 in St. Stephens Parish, Northumberland County, VA and married Mary UNKNOWN about 1782 in Farnham Parish, Richmond County, VA. They had a son, John THRIFT born 1783. Could Mary's last name have been BEAUCHAMP? There is a story passed down in the family from Mabel THRIFT, daughter of Philip Mayo THRIFT, that insists that Samuel B THRIFT's middle name was BEAUCHAMP and that it was Acadian--that one of the ancestor THRIFT married an Acadian woman named BEAUCHAMP. We know that John THRIFT, Jr. married Sarah WHITE so it could have been the John THRIFT before him who married Mary UNKNOWN. The Acadian dispersion was in the 1750's so the timing is right. If this rings a bell with anyone or you have some idea as to where I should go with this information, please let me know. Thanks, Sue
