Can anyone tell me difinitively what years tax records are available for Northumberland? I've tried working through my library, but they aren't much help. I have two areas of interest. My Edward WEBB marries Nancy DOWNTAIN 6 April 1807. His presumed brother Vincent WEBB marries Elizabeth APPLEBY 22 Mar 1805. I am hoping that by looking at tax records I can find which of about 8 WEBB families, which one Vincent and Edward come from. Presumably there would be at least one less Male over 18 for 1805 or 1806 and another less for 1807 or 1808. Thanks for any help you might have. Mac Webb
Have you done a place check on the online site of the LDS, to see what has been filmed for the county? I checked, and the LDS have Personal Property taxes for Northumberland on film from 1782-1850. the film # 1870182 has 1782 through 1812 ( with 1808 missing) this film can be rented at any FHC for about $3.50/month.
