    3. I would like to visit the location described in this land sale document of 1786. Adams Cove is not shown on modern maps. I suspect it was on the coast line because John Adams owned half interest in a Schooner, Please contact me if you can help. Thanks, Jim Adams ________________________________________________________ Lot Adams sold land purchased by his father, John Adams >From Record Book #13, 1785-1787, Northumberland Co., VA, pages 329-331 This Indenture made this Twelfth day of November in the year of Our Lord God One thousand seven hundred and eighty six & in the Eleventh year of our Independence ___Between Lot Adams of the County of Northumberland and Parish of Wiccocomaco of the one part & Onesiphorus Harvey of the County & Parish aforesaid of the other part ___Witneseth that the said Lot Adams for and in the consideration of the sum of two hundred pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Onesiphorus Harvey before the Ensealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof the said Lot Adams hath Granted Bargained and sold aliened enforced and confirmed and by these presents hath grant Bargain sell alein enforced and Confirm unto the said Onesiphorus Harvey of him his Heirs as assigned forever all His the said Adams’s Dimitting Plantation that he now lives on lying & being in the County & Parish Aforesaid & purchased by John Adams deceased Father of the said Lot Adams as will ! appear by deed of Bargain & sale from Hanes Nicklas dated 1757___and bounded as Followeth beginning at a pine tree Standing on the East side of said Adams Cove A line between the Land of the said Onesiphorus Harvey that he purchased of Joe Hester from thence a line of Marked Trees to a Red Oak Stump a line between Jos. Hurst & the said Sands from thence a line of Marked Trees between Jos. Hurst & said Adams to a corner between Jos. Hurst & said Onesiphorus Harvey’s Plantation from thence A line Marked Trees between said Harvey & Adams to a White Oak in the fork at the head of the said Adams Cove from thence down the said Cove to the beginning Pine Tree containing by Estimation Fifty Acres be the same more or less together with all the appurtenances and priviledges thereunto belonging or any wise appertaining and also the Reversion and Reversions, Remainder and Remainders, Rents, and Levies thereof and also all the Estate Right Title Interest Claim and Demand whatsoever of hi! m the said Lot Adams of in and to the same premises of in and to every part and parcell thereof To have and to hold the said track or parcel of fifty acres of land above mentioned together with the appurtenances unto the said Onesiphporus Harvey his Heirs and assign to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Onesiphorus Harvey his Heirs and assigns forever and the said Lot Adams for himself his Heirs and assigns doth covenant and grant to and with the said Onesiphorus Harvey his Heirs & assign that he the said Onesiphorus Harvey his Heirs & assign shall & may from time to time and at all times hereafter peaceably and quietly have hold occupy possess and Enjoy all and singular the said premises above mentioned to be hereby granted with the appurtenances without the let Trouble Hindrance Molestation Interuption and Denial of him the said Lot Adams his Heirs and assigns and all and every other person and persons whatsoever Claiming onto Claim by from or under him them o! r any of them and further that he the said Lot Adams and his Heirs and all and every person and persons and his and their Heirs anything having or claiming in the said prigigles above mentioned or any part thereof by or from or under him Shall and will at all times hereafter at the Reasonable Request and costs of the said Onesiphorus Harvey his Heirs or assigns make so and Execute all and every such further and Other Lawfull and Reasonable Grants acts and assurances in the Law whatsoever for the further better and more perfect granting conveying and assurances of the said premises hereby granted with the appurtenances unto the said Onesiphorus Harvey his Heirs and assigns to the only proper use and bihood of the said Onesiphorus Harvey his Heirs & assigns forever according to the true intent and meaning of these presents and for none other use intent or purpose whatsoever in Witness hereof the said Lot Adams with Nancy his wife hath to these presents Mutually set their hand! s and affixed their seals the Day and Year first above written.
