    2. Hope this helps someone. CEMETERY LINKS: Ophelia (Northumberland County) Virginia By Mary W. Hurst mhurst5@juno.com I just returned from visiting friends who recently moved to Ophelia in Northumberland County, Virginia. On the property next to theirs is a group of three graves in an area that is becoming overgrown with brush. We were able to get to the graves and write down the information on them: A. B. COCKRELL Born Jan. 23, 1823 Died June 24, 1892 Gone but not forgotten In memory of Margaret A. wife of Ammi B. COCKRELL Died March 21, 1885 in the 54th year of her age Annie H. daughter of R. J. GOUGH Born Aug. 21, 1894 Died Aug. 23, 1898 Safe in the arms of Jesus The tombstones are in excellent condition, quite readable, and are not hard to reach. Margaret COCKRELL's tombstone has a lovely carving of a willow tree and a monument on it. We also took pictures, which I will be glad to scan and send to anyone interested. My friend hopes to be able to clean the brush away from the graves. She has been told there are a few more in the area, but we did not see any others. * * * * * PERMISSION TO REPRINT articles from MISSING LINKS is granted unless stated otherwise, provided: (1) the reprint is not used for commercial purposes; and (2) the following notice appears at the end of the article: Previously published in MISSING LINKS, Vol. 7, No. 50, 16 December 2002 http://www.petuniapress.com >>
