Does anyone know why there are so few transcriptions for Northumberland Cemeteries? Is it just that they aren't online or are they unavailable. I deal with over a dozen VA counties in my search and this one has the fewest resources of all. Preston Haynie has been very helpful in my research, but it would be nice to have more stuff available.
Amen to that. I yearn for marriage records. It is almost like a dozen books were printed, and now only two are in existance. Excuse me for sounding rude. -----Original Message----- From: MACAWEBB@aol.com <MACAWEBB@aol.com> To: VANORTHU-L@rootsweb.com <VANORTHU-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Thursday, April 25, 2002 1:57 PM Subject: [VANORTHU-L] Cemeteries and other records >Does anyone know why there are so few transcriptions for Northumberland >Cemeteries? I am looking for more information on a William H. Haynie. His parents, his wife and children. I need to know when he died to get copy of his will or inventories. If you know of the books and pages of his family wills it will be of great help in my research. I could just order them from the court house or the Hist. Society in Heathville, VA. I would have to order microfilm and I am not really sure which years(or if there are records) to order for this man or his family. I know that he was alive in 1860. Thank ever so much for your help. This email has been cross posted to several lists. Sorry if you get it more than once. I've added my HALE and LEWIS information and updated the Richard T. Dear Listers, My thanks to all who responded. I don't yet see a connection to my Giles Newton of Caroline County but your willingness to try to help is greatly appreciated and to be commended. My aim was to find Newton's in other surrounding or earlier counties where I might go for a more in depth search of a connection. I have not had such a generous response to a post to other list. Again, Thank you. David F. Newton Historian, SC Newton Reunion Association 1673 Northwind Dr. SW Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469
