If anyone is related to her, I have several pictures they may have. These were taken about 1908 or so. Let me know. Suzanne Worthington Palmer Atwood

    3. Have you looked for the family in the1870 county census? It should tell where the father and mother were born, and the son....it will also list any other siblings in the family....then, try the 1880, and see what other children were added to the family in the decade. 3. I am researching my James roots and I believe they may be connected to the Jameses of Northumberland County. I have hit a brickwall in my search for my James ancestors. If anyone is searching Thomas James of Northumberland I would appreciate any help you may give. I was given information a couple of years ago that one of the Northumberland Jameses went to Maryland and that James was either a son of Thomas or a grandson. I believe he was suppose to be a physician? Also would the given names of Cassandra, Joshua, Nicholas and Margaret be found in the Northumberland James families. These were some of the children of William James who was in Franklin Co., Va in 1800 and their place of birth was in Maryland, with the eldest being b. abt. 1779. Bev

    3. Rice Marine Railway, in Fairport was owned and operated by my uncle, Emory Rice. His son Carl (Sonny) Rice took it over until he sold it and went to work for Zapata Haynie. I spent many summers as a kid in the 50's in Reedville and around the railway. The yard turned out many fine boats. There is no paper in Lottsburg, but the "local" papers for that area (which carry obits for Lottsburg and surrounding towns) are the Northumberland Echo in Heathsville, VA (the county seat) and the Northern Neck News in Warsaw, VA.
