I did find the follow up story on Mr. Bell. 12/5/1882 Norfolk Virginian Fatal Result of an Accident. Mr. William Bell, the young man who accidentally shot himself on Saturday last, died of the injuries received, on Saturday night. His funeral took place from his father's residence yesterday.
