Susan, The Norfolk County Historical Society membership is open to all interested persons. Dues are $7.50 a year. Send your name address and telephone number with check made payable to Norfolk County Historical Society at 298 Cedar Rd. Chesapeake VA 23320. Members are notified by mail of the three yearly membership meetings and the annual dinner meeting. The mailings will include some articles of historical interest. The Society sponsors historical and genealogy programs, publishes and sells some good books on local history, volunteers in the Wallace Memorial Room (The Wallace Memorial Room is part of the Chesapeake Central Library at 300 Cedar Rd. that emphasizes the City of Chesapeake), and partners with other organizations on projects of local interest ie Civil War Days in Sept., Battle of Great Bridge(Rev. War.) program in Dec., Scottish weekend June. There are several other Genealogy and Historical groups in the area. Will gather information on them and post them here later! I will need to do some research on the available court records and dates in each city. That is on my list of things to do in February! Dee
