Elizabeth Hanbury is a local author/historian and has two books that you can order directly from her: "Marriages of Norfolk County, Virginia, 1851-1865" is $18.50 plus $2.50 for P&H. "Currituck Legacy" is a blend of the history of northeastern North Carolina and the Baum Family through seven generations beginning in the early 1700s. It carries a lot of information about allied families also. (Many of these families migrated back and forth across the VA-NC border.) It is $30 plus $2.50 postage and handling. The NORFOLK COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY in the Feb. '99 newsletter lists the NCHS publications. Most of them are softbound inexpensive publications(books and booklets). Some are limited quantity.
