Hi Dee, Thanks for the info!>smile< Can you do me a great big favor Dee? Can you call the cities and find out who has what books and from what years to what years, especially for guardianship records? I really need information on guardianship records in the city of Norfolk for the year 1860 to 1875. My great grand dad was placed into an orphanage and I have no way to trace our entire family without knowing what books they house there. My ancestor was placed into an orphanage in what would be the downtown area of what is now the city of Norfolk. When I called the Chesapeake courthouse, they told me that they did not have those books and that Norfolk would have them. I really need to know who has these guardianship records, as you might imagine. By the way, how do we join the Norfolk county Historical Society, do you know? Do they have an address? Thanks a bunch, Susan --------------------------------------------------------------- THE PAST EXPLAINS THE PRESENT JENKINS/DAVIS/GAYLE/SMITH/MURRAY/ GODWIN/PARKER/WHITEHEAD/FRAZIER/CURRIN --------------------------------------------------------------- ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
