Hi; First, I would like to welcome any of the new members to our mailing group.... Although I am the county co-ordinator for Norfolk County, I am not familiar with the area and am not researching anyone from this county. So what I do is purely as volunteer work and to help other genealogists... I set up the mailing list to enable some of you hopefully to find each other, and communicate on your lines. Normally you won't even 'see' me much, as I don't have a lot of family information to contribute. But I am behind the scenes here and if anyone has any problems with the mailing list or the website for Norfolk Co, then email me privately and I will be glad to help. The mailing list is to post family information and queries. There is also places on the website to do that.... If you are having problems, then email me, don't post that to the list here, as eveything goes into the Rootsweb archives and people, even later on can find these messages, and contact you... But, I guess I should explain the way this works... :) If you sign up for the Norfolk Mailing List from the website, the info on the website is what I have written and tried to explain to people who wish to join us. Although I am considered the manager of this list, I do not provide the machinery or program or anything that makes it run. When you guys did sign up, whether via the Norfolk Co page or other method, you should have received a welcome message from Rootsweb with instructions on how to post, unsubscribe, etc. This welcome message is sent automatically from Rootsweb... Rootsweb probably handles thousands of messages per day, and so has a lot of their machinery, whatever on automatic... It's the only way they could possibly provide this service for us... If anyone gets double email, or anything like that, then contact me and let me know exactly what the problem is so I will know how to help you,,, writing complaints to this mailing list is a bit redundant, as this is all automated, except for me that is... :) Gracie
