I have located them in the 1850, 1860, & probably in the 1870, which I will verify when I receive it from Heritage Quest. The index on Ancestry.com shows Samuel Miller there in 1810 & 1820 also. Their first child was born 1846 (census info), so I wonder if anyone can find the marriage info.....I guess 1845 or so? I have the names as Samuel Miller (b. abt 1824) married to Elizabeth Eldridge (b. abt 1827). I question the Eldridge, as I saw so many Etherages in St Brides in the census but no Eldridges. I hope someone can help......I really appreciate it. Also, would anyone know how I can learn about what St Brides was like in the 1800s? All the Millers were farmers and they all stayed very near to each other. Many thanks, Louise Viola --part1_9.272b51f.25e47972_boundary--

Hi. I am new to this list. My ancestors had property in Lower Norfolk County in the 1600's. What towns were included in Lower Norfolk County in the years 1635-1641? Regards, Jeff Woodall [email protected]
Hi, I'm new to the list and would like to request a marriage look-up if anyone has access to these records. I'm working on a DAR application and need marriage record but I'm not sure they were married in Norfolk; only that he was stationed there during that time. Marriage of WALTER DAVID DAVIS and MARY E. BARROW ALLEN. Her previous marriage ended in Dec 1943 so they probably married in 1944 or 1945. any assistance will be appreciated. Even if it's just the address and/or phone # that I can contacr. Thx, Joann Bragg Jax, FL

Does anyone have a copy of the above book, who would be willing to do one look up for me. I know the page number. Hopefully. Penny I'm sorry if you received this message twice, I sent it to the wrong address once before.
I posted an inquiry for a volunteer to lookup a will for me in Norfolk. Many people wrote asking how I knew it was there and how did I find the Book and Page number, so I thought I'd respond to the list in case others are interested, too. A helper in Richmond is very good at this stuff. I am not. But she sent me that info having found what I had asked for in the Library of VA holdings. Use this link to read online what is available. It is correct as is: http://image.vtls.com/Reel461/ You can get any of these films on Inter-Library Loan. My problem was that I needed Will Book #9 for Norfolk City, and the LVA does not have it; only Books 1-8. It does reside, however, in the Norfolk City Courthouse, which is why I was looking for a helper. This is all I know about these books. Good luck! Steve
Anyone willing to go to the Norfolk City Courthouse and look up a will for me? I have the info from the index and the page number. I'd like it copied. Happy to cover expenses. Can exchange research in Boston, MA. Steve

JOHN AND THOMAS WINCHESTER were in GUILFORD COUNTY, NC maybe as early as 1768 or earlier. I am looking for any WINCHESTER that may have been in VIRGINIA prior to the date of 1768. I feel my Winchester family migrated from Virginia into North Carolina. Therefore, some 52 Counties list are being contacted in hopes someone has information on the WINCHESTER FAMILY in Virginia prior to 1768. Thank you, WARREN WINCHESTER
