Hi I pulled the pension application for James Van Orman - he served in War of 1812 -under Cpt. Robert Whitakers Co. NY Militia His wife Orpha filed #19243 11759 I see most of the information I have is already known - James died 5/19/1869 in Lodi, Ohio It mentions Orpha's last name is Fleming. (Can anyone tell me where the Finch name came from) They were married in Canandaigua, Ontario Co., New York on 12/31/1819 by one Oliver Rase. Says bounty land in 1860 and the warrant was issued. Orpha died 5/25/1887. Orpha was living at 1037 East Madison Ave., Cleveland, Ohio in 1887 Deposition from John Rowler in 1878 (he was born in Canandaigua in 1801) who knew the couple - but was not present at their wedding.
