    3. Here's a little more on Philemon.... The Ancestry.com website has an index to deaths taken during the census years (Mortality Schedules) which lists P. B. Van Norman; male; white; married; born Mississippi; died Feb. [1880] aged 35 years from Pneumonia; Census was for Wards 7 & 8 in East Feliciana, Louisiana. According to notes, that is also the location where he married Susan Eleanor McAdams 18 Dec. 1868. Philemon Baldevin [sic] Van Norman and his wife, Susan, were members of the Hepzibah Baptist Church in E.Feliciana Parish, LA. [Source: Sagley, Mary Ann, EAST FELICIANA PARISH, LA, v.2, p.158, - HEPZIBAH BAPTIST CHURCH MINUTES.] Philemon Baldwin Aaron Van Norman was apparently born 28 Feb. 1844 in Liberty, Amite County, Mississippi to Philemon Baldevin (sic) Van Norman and Mary Ann Rollins. Philemon Sr. was the son of Aaron Van Norman & Lucretia Bailey House Woodword and Aaron was the son of Joseph Van Norman & Elizabeth Wybern, originally of Lower Smithfield Township, Pennsylvania and later of New York State. [I have no sources for most of this] There are many on this list who descend from Joseph and Elizabeth! [But not me!] Happy Hunting!
