Hi All, Went to Archives today found the following on Jacob VanAerman - who served in Co B 49th Wisconsin Infantry during Civil war. Served from 2/11/1865 - 11/1/1865. He filed for pension and later his widow filed for pension. 694.017 503.610 631.297 442.437 He was married to Flora E. Simes (Sims) on 12/9/1875 Mt. Morris, Wisconsin by Ira Parker Their marriage record indicated I could not read Flora's parents names very well - it was Wm. D. Banker - maybe Barley or something like that - sorry Mother was J.W. Banker Indicated Jacob was born in Guilderland, Albany, New York and his parents were J.I. Vanaernam - not sure about the I and E. Vanaernam. Flora had been previously married to WIlliam F. Sims and was divorced from him on 11/22/1875 - Waushara County, Wisc They had a son Elmer. Jacob had also been previously married to Mary Ann Cady - married to her on 2/19/1852 and divorced from her in Waushara Co., Wisconsin on 12/10/1874. Jacob died 2/22/1896 at the Veterans Home in Waupaca, Wisconsin and Flora died there also in 1899. She had been receiving pension money - last paid April 1899 - think she died about 10/1899. Jacob and Flora had a daughter Sarah E. that was born 6/22/1882 Depositions from various people Abram Vanaerman from Amboy, Blue Earth, Minnesota gave deposition in 1896 - he was 57 at this time. He stated that "he has known Jacob having lived together from birth" Also a Lina Winge gave deposition that she knew the couple as she acted as nurse at Sarah's birth. Linda Noggle
