Van Norman service in Civil war from Co G. 5th Regiment Wisconsin Infantry application #224.183 180.143 I did make copies of many of the pages As it turns out Elmira filed for divorce from her husband William R. Van Norman - have copy of divorce from Waushara County, Wisconsin dated 9/25/1866. (Separated 1859 - got together again in 1860 for a year, separated in 1861 and divorced 1866. Depositions from daughter Lydia Abigail (Abbie) Eldred (from town of Aurora, Waushara Co., Wisc) given 1876. Lydia born 7/13/1848. Married in 1868. Deposition from daughter Hattie E. Nash (from County of Chittenden, Vermont) given 1876 - says she lived with mother until 1874 Elmira Van Norman was granted pension died late 1882 or early 1883 - pension paid to 9/4/1882.
