These people are going to drive me NUTS! ----- Just in case you stumble over the name again in your searches--There's a Rittenhouse/many variations family that is somehow associated with the Van Arnams. A guy named Abel Redenhaus was the husband (one of many) of Geertje Nanning. By her daughter (of an earlier husband), Hester Tjerks who married Harmen Bastien Visscher, she ties in with practically every family the Albany Van Arnams married. By her son Hendrick Redenhaus she ties in (in eastern New Jersey) with two of the children of Jan Theunisen (later: Van Tilburg), father/brother/cousin/something, of Sara Theunis wife of Jan Dircks (Van Arnhem). Geertje Nanning was aboard the Conynck David in 1641 with a guy named Jan Theunisz, a carpenter from Leyden, who may or may not have been, the same Jan Theunisen. ----- Unless other researchers have it all screwed up Abel Redenhaus (Ritterhaus=castle?) has nothing to do with William, Gerhard and Claes Rettinghausen. Perhaps I've quoted Mike Royko before: "Life isn't fair but it shouldn't cheat this much." --pete ----- Original Message ----- From: "Linda Schwenn" <schwel@comcast.net> To: <vannorman@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, April 02, 2010 6:21 PM Subject: [VANNORMAN] Elizabeth Van Norman m William Rittenhouse, Hunterdon,NJ 61.
